3. My Favourite Piece of Technology

Today I am going to talk about my bicycle 馃槉

A little over a year ago I felt the sensation of getting on a bicycle again. Some friends began to invite me to ride a bike around Santiago, the point is that since I was a boy I don't have a bike, that's why I lost interest in it and I just didn't practice it.

At the beginning it was a bit complicated, for someone to lend me a bicycle, to pedal again, but I began to have such a good time on two wheels, that every time I wanted to go out more and more: Parks, hills, route along the "Ciclovias".

Until the moment came where I told myself: I must buy my own bicycle. So fortunately at that time I had started working and the time for my first salary was approaching 馃摨 Quindi I started my research: What bike do I want? How do I want her? What color? For what kind of routes?

The more I thought about it, the more options appeared. 'till I finally found a Taller in Pudahuel on the recommendation of a friend to build my own "Fixie"

It was quite a challenge to learn to pedal on this model of bicycle, the "fixed gear", strap (they are to hook your feet to the pedal) and the cherry on the cake it does not have brakes. So.. If you're wondering if I fell, the answer is yes, and so many times hahha.

But as time went by, I learned to use it well and have not stopped pedaling since then, I love my bike very much, I love being able to get everywhere on it, we have seen beautiful landscapes, incredible sunsets and shared very entertaining afternoons with friends and Catalina 馃挀.

The image is of a place that I like to go to, it is in Pe帽aflor on the outskirts of Santiago, it has this leafy tree in a hidden square...

  1. Create your own bicycle should be a big experience. Have you ever climb a hill with your bicycle?

4. My fav dish in a pic

Hi again, today I want to make a mix of the topics for this post, I will tell you what is behind this very special photo. It was in January of this year, for my 25th birthday. That day with Catalina we visited different markets in Florence to get the best ingredients to cook my favorite dish “pasta all'amatriciana” Buonissimo. It is a simple dish, with few ingredients, probably not so good for your health, but incredibly tasty, the key is in the preparation, respecting the times and the main ingredient " Guanciale ". How is this wonder made? We start by cutting the Guanciale into small pieces, and put it in a pan over medium heat, without oil or water, just guanciale. We wait for that releases the juice that it releases the juice that will give us the flavor of our pasta. Then we take out the crispy pieces of guanciale and put tomato sauce, “pomodoro pasati”. In another pot we put the pasta to cook until a little before al dente. While the tomato ...

2. Why did you choose this career/study programme?

When I was child my father played chess with me and my brother, we were both good with numbers and we played a lot of guessing and problem solving games. Without realizing it, since I was little I paied a lot of attention to physical and astronomical sciences. I loved looking at the sky and being able to see stars and thinking about how incredible and complex the language we invented to describe them is.  Over time, the climatic situation became more and more evident to me and when the time came to decide what to study, I chose this engineering to learn how to solve socio-environmental problems. I think the management and tenconoliga are the key for this global crisis.  When I started college I didn't imagine the tools I was going to learn. Rather, I thought of renewable energy, solar panels, wind, etc... But there was more and more. Until today I focus on working with geographic information systems (GIS), making digital models for envi...

5. How can my major make the "World a Better Place"

The main axis of the career I am studying is the management of the territory, using engineering tools to be able to make better decisions when intervening in an area, generating the least possible (environmental) impact. Now, this is in general terms, as there are many edges that are taken care of in ecosystem variables. Such as conservation of flora and fauna, renewable natural resources, renewable energy production, water planning, atmospheric interaction, etc... Each of these topics is a world and requires a lot of preparation to understand the language of nature through physics. , chemistry and biology. My participation in making the world a better place is through Geomatics . Which is the science that deals with the management of geographic information through remote sensors and satellites. We are capable of modeling the coverage of a territory, understanding its biogeochemical cycles, land uses and vegetation states, to make better decisions when intervening ...
