When I was child my father played chess with me and my brother, we were both good with numbers and we played a lot of guessing and problem solving games. Without realizing it, since I was little I paied a lot of attention to physical and astronomical sciences. I loved looking at the sky and being able to see stars and thinking about how incredible and complex the language we invented to describe them is.
Over time, the climatic situation became more and more evident to me and when the time came to decide what to study, I chose this engineering to learn how to solve socio-environmental problems. I think the management and tenconoliga are the key for this global crisis.
When I started college I didn't imagine the tools I was going to learn. Rather, I thought of renewable energy, solar panels, wind, etc... But there was more and more. Until today I focus on working with geographic information systems (GIS), making digital models for environmental impact studies through satellites and/or radares.
In the future I would very much like to be able to work on projects that manage resources and generate information through GIS. In Consultoras for the private sector or in a Ministry or SEREMI for the public sector. Another great dream is to continue my postgraduate studies outside of Chile, hopefully to be able to work in another country.
In the picture i show you a ASTROLABIO, its my favorite old scintific instrument in the world, I feel that it connects me with our astronomers and navigators of the past...
Do you think that if the climate wasn't a omnipresent threat as it's now would choose a different career?
